From the recording Humphrey Piedmont's Revelation Well
You Won’t Be The One
Steve Brigida on drums, Steve Cooper on bass. We recorded this in the jam room of my house. Later When Ron Rice and I were mixing, we asked Coop to come over and play bass on it as the original recording the bass was not very present. As most of his bass playing goes, it was on the money, inventive and melodic. Part of the inspiration for one of the verses was from the story of the deafness Beethoven was experience while still composing music.
Lyrics
You Won’t Be The One
What you gonna say how are you gonna feel
You know that one day this will not seem real
And you won’t be the one who knew it all along
And you won’t be the one who knew it all along
Are you gonna laugh? Will you even try
When your heart gets tired and your mouth gets dry?
And you won’t be the one who knew it all along
And you won’t be the one who knew it all along
Maybe you could never be ready like you should
And now when you look back to see where you stood
Where are you gonna go? Who are you gonna tell
Your angel got hurt she cried when she fell.
And you won’t be the one who knew it all along
And you won’t be the one who knew it all along
Don’t you see that it’s coming sneaking up on you
This could be the day your skies turn blue
And you won’t be the one who knew it all along
And you won’t be the one who knew it all along
